Should I get an iPad or an Ereader?
I’ve been looking at both Nooks, Kobos and iPads. While the iPad is a lot more expensive, it can do a lot more things, and it has a lot more features, and apps you can buy for it. Would I be able to download and read books on an iPad if I got one? What App would I need? Or should I look at eReader tablets instead?
The iPad can absolutely be used as an ebook reader. You can download (for free) iBooks, and you can also install the Nook and Kindle reader apps, which means you can buy books in those formats and read them on the iPad. There are also many other free reader applications for the iPad that can read practically every format available. The iPad is the most flexible ebook reader available. The biggest minus compared to the other is the comparatively short battery life, plus the size, which is both a plus and a minus. It’s bigger and heavier than the Kindle or Nook, but that also makes it better for reading magazines.
