Notion Ink Adam sold out. Plus video

Notion Ink Adam was among the most anticipated tablets in the second half of the year and was seen as a device that could overthrow even the powerful iPad. Still, the main problem with the tablet was that it was released rather later – on December 9 – and by that time iPad already conquered the world as a major success.

Despite its late release, Adam has all the potential to make it to the club of the big players. Although, the exact sales numbers are still unrevealed, Notion Ink founder Rohan Shravan suggested on the company’s blog that numerous units of the Pixel Qi version of the Adam are booked already. Interestingly, this happened most likely within 24 hours of start of the pre-order process.

A lot of people and news sites started reporting that the Notion Ink Adam was possibly a scam. There were no videos of the current device, no photos, nothing to confirm its actual existence.

Despite all this, Notion Ink sold out all their Pixel Qi pre-order models in less than a day and are now down to just the LCD models.

After the disastrous first day of pre-orders, the CEO of Notion Ink posted a follow up on the Notion Ink Adam blog explaining what had happened and also made a point of promising to post a video of the Adam in action on December 18th. That happens to be today . . . so here it is. The Notion Ink Adam in action.

Currently, the company is not accepting any more pre-orders of the Adam tablet. It is still not known when booking process will be resumed. Things are somehow easier for those who have managed to pre-order the tablet as they can check the status of their pre-order.

In the meantime, the company has released another video of the Adam tablet. The company claimed it has been filmed in real world conditions and are not advertising videos, which will be available later on.
