Im looking to buy an Ereader should I buy the kindle or the nook?
Each device has it’s pros and cons.
The Kindle in my opinion is the superior device from a hardware perspective. It’s got the latest version of e-Ink display called “Pearl.” That makes it easier to read. It’s also lighter and just seems to be better designed ergonomically. It’s big drawback is that the Kindle uses a proprietary file format. For buying books that are still under copyright, you are pretty much locked into Amazon for that.
The Nook on the other hand uses that open standard file format, so you can buy and download books from many places, Barnes & Noble, Borders, even Google. You can also borrow books from your local library if it is part of an e-library system. However, the Nook feels clunky and the design is not ergonomically friendly. Can’t tell you how many times I hit that little color screen at the bottom by accident.
