How to Purchase an E-Reader Outside of US?

I have been dreaming to have an Electronic Reader since a long time ago. Based on a lot of reviews and considerations, I decided that Sony Touch Edition PRS-600 is the one I’m looking for. But unfortunately it’s available for sale only on Sony Style US. I’ve tried amazon.com and it said something like the product cannot be shipped internationally due to some guarantee issue.
I don’t have any relative staying at US, and due to some Internet security malpractice I’m too afraid to purchase on an unpopular website.
Is there any other way where I can purchase it in the most trusted and saving way?
I have checked amazon… right after filling the address as Singapore, it gave the response that this product is not available for shipping outside of US.

Have you tried amazon.co.uk or .de? Maybe they offer you some optional delivery service. Or ask a friend that is in European countries. Sony Touch Edition PRS-600 is also available in there.
