5 Ways To Make Money Online For Teens
1. Start an Ebay store – Sell stuff you make, or a service you can offer.
Are you creative? Can you make something that someone else might want? I started my clothing line by selling a few designs on ebay. I saved up some money, and invested in 24 shirts and sold them in ebay auctions. Word got out, and quickly I ran out of shirts and I made a nice profit off what I had sold. I then reinvested the money and kept selling on Ebay using my mom’s account. I was only 16 at the time so basically anyone can do it! All it takes is hard work and dedication.
To get started you will need:
1. Something to sell or a service to offer (such as graphic design, online tutoring, etc.)
2. A Paypal Account. Get one at http://www.paypal.com (requires a bank account)
3. An Ebay account.
Setting up an account is easy and free. Once you’ve established your account and linked your paypal you can begin selling your items/services. Make sure to create good thumbnails for the item you want to sell. A professional photo of the actual product is the best and most ethical way to go. Try to have the best lighting as possible, and try shooting your items on a blank surface or wall. You’d be amazed what you can do with a point and shoot camera, and decent lighting for your product shot. You don’t need to be a professional to create professional results!
2. Zazzle.com – Create T-shirt designs and sell them! No shipping or inventory required.
Here’s another more creative way to make money using a powerful website called Zazzle. Zazzle is free to use and requires paypal or automated check in order to pay you.
Sign up for an account and start designing away. The concept is simple:
1. Design your shirt in a design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Gimp, Correl Draw, etc. Even MS Paint can be utilized with the right skills.
2. Upload them to a garment of your choice: T-Shirt, Hoodie, Long sleeve, Sweat Pants, etc.
3. Publish them to your store front and start promoting your creations.
You get to keep a percentage of your sales, or you can chose to increase the overall price. Beware of increasing your retail price too high, just so you can make a better profit. Play around with the balance and percentages to find a good price for your products.
3. Allvoices.com – For Journalists, Writers, and Bloggers.
Allvoices is a relatively new site for online media syndication and publishing. If you’re a writer type, or even a videographer, you can post your content to Allvoices. Allvoices accepts breaking news, opinion articles, and many other types of media related “news”. You even have the opportunity to sell your images or videos to popular media outlets such as Associated Press, CNN, and many other media outlets.
You earn money based on a mixture of page views, popularity, credibility, and involvement within the community.
4. iStockphoto.com – For the Photographer, Videographer, Musician, Producer and more!
iStockPhoto started as a stock photography website where photographers could sell their images for commercial use. It now has expanded to include just about every type of media, and is the largest stock website in the world. Stock is basically a generic term for media that is sold for commercial use and can be purchased by multiple buyers. For photos you could make thousands of dollars should the right buyer be interested in your photo. For video, the potential is much larger , however you must produce high quality video content.
Now beware, this site is mainly for professionals but it doesn’t mean you can’t be on it either! iStockPhoto list very specific requirements for each type of stock media to guide you. If you’re accepted, prepared to produce a lot of media to increase your chances of making money with them.
Teens will need a valid drivers license or government issued ID card to participate, or you may register under your guardian’s consent and use their information (with their permission) should you not have either type of ID.
5. Write an eBook or Training Video – Just about anyone who can write.
What’s an ebook? It’s what is sounds like an “Electronic Book” that is usually distributed for free, but can also be a paid for item.
Now there are many types of eBooks out there, and chances are one of your favorite how to books or online magazines are written by an eBook author or in an eBook format. An eBook differs from a printed book because it’s usually read on a computer or Ereader and the formatting is “web friendly” with many paragraph breaks and line breaks.
